Students at Victory Christian International School celebrated the school’s 15th year anniversary last February 18, 2016, at the AFP Theater, Quezon City. Following the theme Homeward, all of their performances portrayed qualities of VCIS that made it a dear home to them.
Parents and guests graced the occasion and witnessed the 11 amazing performances from students in all grade levels. The event started with the theatrical performance of “You Know You’re a VCIS Student When…” by the Grade 10, followed by the evolution of dance of the Grade 6 class where students totally let loose in several songs from different eras. The adorable interpretative number of “I want to be like Jesus” by the Grade 1 and “Lorax” adaptation of the Grade 3 students received cheers from the crowd. The short video film of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” showed the creative side of the Grade 4 class, which was followed by the groovy dance number (with poi) and pop music remix of the Grade 9 and the musical performance to a medley of Disney songs by the Grade 7. The Grade 5 class proved that VCIS is a home to young musicians with their School of Rock performance, while the Grade 2 class showed their love for children’s stories with their presentation of Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go”. The Grade 8 musical performance of a segment from the “High School Musical” movie was superb, followed by the originally written “Dreamer’s Chasm” by the Grade 11 which concluded the lineup of performances commendably. VCIS student-hosts and the alumni video presentations kept pace of the fun and surprises. Also, a mini gallery of students’ artworks was displayed at the AFP lobby.
Homeward is the school’s third Showcase of Talents, following Off ground and Leadership and Nation Building talent showcases in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
