VCIS Community Outreach is all about Servant Leadership

For this year’s High School Community Outreach, the Grades 7-11 students reached out to God Cares Christian Fellowship, a small and thriving community church in Paenaan, Antipolo.  Through this outreach program, the students were able to touch the lives of the children by teaching them about health and proper nutrition, and sharing with them the word of God.

As a head start on servant leadership, our Grade 6 students visited the Lolos and Lolas of God’s Grace Home Care Center, a private-owned elderly home in Quezon City. The students brought sunshine and smiles to the residents as they sang, danced, and prayed for them the whole morning. Add to the warm company, the students listened to the elderlies’ bittersweet but colorful stories, and left them with letters of encouragement and prayers.

The VCIS Community Outreach Program is just one avenue for our students to practice servant leadership. The school continually provides these children various opportunities to reach out and share their skills and knowledge to not only the less fortunate, but also to people who are thirsty for the word of God.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. {1 Timothy 4:12}
