Former students Tristan and Dominique got featured in CBN Asia

Our former students continue to make their VCIS family proud—in and out of the campus!

CBN Asia featured the awesome talent of VCIS alumni Tristan and Dominique (SY 2015–2016) in spoken word poetry in their first episode of Current. These former classmates, who are now taking their Speech Communication and Film course at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, have joined together to perform their poignant, self-written spoken word piece, Buttered Toast, which speaks about how young people fall in immature love and deal and cope with a broken heart. Tristan and Dominique, back in high school, were both fascinated in this new form of poetry which focuses on the aesthetics of word play and voice articulation and intonation.

Spoken word poetry started in VCIS in early 2012 as part of its intra-competitions and performance tasks but eventually captured the hearts of many students who have the inner strength and passion of a modern poet. After Tristan and Dominique, we pray for more students to practice this art and be featured in media bigwigs in the future too!
